Because it is important for our students to make friends and experience the UK as well as to learn English, Meridian School offers its students the opportunity to participate in optional excursions and activities every week, while in the summer months when the weather is a bit brighter, we offer a minimum of four activities/excursions per week. The locations and activities that we offer vary greatly, from trips to local monuments and places of interest to walks through Salisbury and Stonehenge. We regularly take our students bowling, to the cinema, to restaurants, bars and clubs (if they’re old enough!) as well as to the beach for a barbeque or to the local park for a game of football. We try to make these trips as interesting and as diverse as possible, and of course there are many great areas in England rich with history and culture, from Brighton, Dorset and Bath to Oxford, Winchester and London. See below for more details. We also realise that many of our students (along with their parents) might often like to check up on what’s been happening over the last few months at Meridian School. Now this is possible with the Meridian School News Blog, an internet space which is regularly updated and will list all of our excursions and news, complete with pictures and comments from our staff and students. Enjoy!
Excursions Excursions range from around £12 for a day-trip to Brighton to around £17 for London. Evening Activities Evening activity costs vary from around £3 for Salsa dancing to £10 for theatre visits. In the winter months, Meridian offers at least one activity every week, whilst during the summer three evening activities as well as a weekend excursion is offered. |
