FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
|
Once I arrive in England, how do I get to Meridian School?Meridian School can arrange for a car to pick you up from the airport or trains and buses run from all major UK airports into Portsmouth.
Visit our MAPS page, or to download full transport details and maps, click HERE. How do I get medical coverage in the UK?All nationals of EEA countries can have free medical treatment provided they bring their European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). Some countries have reciprocal arrangements with the UK and these nationals are also treated free. Students who are staying more than six months can register with a doctor and all students will receive free medical treatment in cases of emergency (but otherwise must pay). We strongly advise all students to arrange medical insurance to cover their stay in Britain. It is always best to check with your embassy about your health benefits in the UK. If you have any questions, email or phone Meridian School. How do I find out about visa regulations? All EU students may study in the UK without restriction. Those visiting England from other countries however may need to visit the British Embassy website (http://uk.embassyhomepage.com/) to register for a student visa which is renewable each year. Once you have arrived in the UK, non-EU nationals will need to register their address with the police. Meridian School will assist you in this once you have found accommodation.
